Work session on statistical data confidentiality This publication contains the proceedings of the work session, jointly organized by Eurostat and UN Economic Commission for Europe, on statistical data confidentiality held in Manchester, 17-19 December 2007. Different aspects of statistical confidentiality are covered, namely: web/on-line remote access, statistical disclosure risks, disclosure control methods and software, access to microdata, general statistical confidentiality issues. Déficit comercial UE 2008

Energy prices boosted the EU-27 trade deficit in 2008. Statistics in focus. External trade 64/2009. Russia became the second largest destination for EU-27 exports after the USA. Between 2000 and 2008, EU imports were consistently higher than exports, due mainly to an increasing trade deficit in the energy sector. In 2008, the total EU-27 trade deficit reached a record level of EUR 242.1 billion. The United States was by far the most important trading partner for EU-27 exports in 2008, in spite of a slight fall compared to the previous year. Russia recorded a growth rate of 18% for 2007-2008 and overtook Switzerland to become the second largest trading partner for EU-27 exports. China was the most important trading partner for imports to EU-27. Together, China, the United States and Russia accounted for 39% of imports from outside EU-27 in 2008. Germany remained the largest contributor to EU-27 external trade among the Member States, with more than one fifth of total extra EU-27 trade. Imports of machinery and transport equipment, as well as of other manufactured products, decreased during 2007-2008.  [+]

Manual estadísticas filiales extranjeras

Foreign AffiliaTes Statistics (FATS) - Recommendations Manual The Regulation (EC) No 716/2007 of the European Parliament and the Council (EC) on the structure and activity of foreign affiliates as the regulatory framework for the provision of foreign affiliates statistics (FATS) was adopted in 2007. The Regulation aims to make sure that in future harmonised inward and outward FATS data will be available. The recommendations manual, as called for in article 7 of the regulation, will play a crucial role in the compilation process. To make sure that the manual is not only in line with the rules in the FATS Regulation but also meets the needs and realities national compilers face in practice, it has been thoroughly discussed in various meetings of the FATS joint working group. This EUROSTAT FATS recommendations manual 2nd edition provides the definitions and guidelines for national compilers which are the indispensable precondition for obtaining FATS which can be added together to produce meaningful EU-wide aggregates. This 2nd edition is derived from the first one published in July 2007 and replaces it. Main changes concerns the technical format and procedures for transmission of the results, the implementation of NACE Rev. 2 and the quality reports.  [+]
