This new edition of Key figures on Europe — Statistics illustrated marks something of a new departure from previous editions. With more visualisation, innovative data presentation formats and shorter texts, we aim to better respond to the needs of our users while also reaching a wider and more diverse audience. It is available in English, French and German.

This publication provides you with a selection of interesting key statistics on the European Union (EU), its Member States as well as the countries of the European Free Trade Association (EFTA). Drawing from the rich collection of data available at Eurostat, we aim to provide insight into the current situation and recent developments across the EU with regard to people and society, the economy and business, and the environment and natural resources.

The publication ‛The EU in the world 2014 – A statistical portrait’ provides you with a selection of important and interesting statistics on the EU – considered as a single entity – in comparison with the 15 non-EU countries from the Group of Twenty (G20). It treats the following areas: economy and finance; population; health; education and training; the labour market; living conditions and social protection; industry, trade and services, tourism and the information society; agriculture, forestry and fisheries; international trade; transport; the environment; energy; and science and technology. El Cuadro de Indicadores de los Mercados de Consumo, en su décima edición, que se publica hoy, registra un mejor rendimiento en todos los mercados de consumo. Esta mejora es particularmente marcada en el caso de los mercados de bienes, mientras que los servicios siguen siendo las principales fuentes de descontento.
El Cuadro de Indicadores de los Mercados de Consumo muestra el comportamiento de 52 mercados de consumo, desde el de coches de segunda mano al de alojamiento vacacional. Los mercados están clasificados con arreglo a los datos facilitados por los consumidores en una encuesta a escala de la UE1 basada en cuatro componentes: comparabilidad de las ofertas, confianza en las empresas, problemas y reclamaciones, y satisfacción respecto de las empresas.
