ceciliotamaritProfesssor of Economics at the University of Valencia (www.uv.es/tamac), where he also is the academic director of the European Documentation Centre. He held a Jean Monnet Chair (1996-2003) and a “ad personam” Jean Monnet Chair in Economic Integration (2013-2016). From 2012-2017 was the Director of the Joint Research Unit in Economic Integration (INTECO). He was also the Chair of the Department of Applied Economics II from 2008 to 2014. He holds a Ph. D. (with special honours) from the University of Valencia-UV (1992) and a M.A. from the College of Europe, Bruges, Belgium (1987).

His main research fields are Macroeconometrics and Economic Integration. He has been Schuman Scholar at the European Parliament in 1988, Visiting Scholar (1992 and 2000) and Visiting Professor (1998) at the School of Economics of the University of Nottingham, Senior Fellow at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania (1996), visiting scholar at the Department of Economics, University of Goettingen (2011, 2013, 2014, 2019) and Harvard University (2015, 2016).  From 1988 to 1992 he was Director of the European Documentation Centre of the University of Valencia and a Research Associate at the Research Department of the Valencian Federation of Saving Banks. In 1993 he served as adviser to the Spanish Prime Minister’s Cabinet. From 1998 to 2003 he has been President of the Spanish Chapter of the International Economics and Finance Society, Chairman of the Economics Committee in the Spanish National Commission for Research Assessment (CNEAI) and from 2010-2014 President of ALdE-Spanish Association of Applied Economics. He has been consultant for the European Commission, H.M. Treasury (UK), CESifo (Germany) and the Spanish Ministry of Economy.
