Tamar Shuali TrachtenbergProf. Dr. Tamar Shuali Trachtenberg, is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Education and Teachers Training, Catholic University of Valencia UCV, she obtained her PhD in Pedagogy and an International Master’s Degree in Peace and Conflict Studies. Her fields of interest are intercultural education, social justice and inclusion, civic education, and European values and citizenship.

She teaches Intercultural Education, International Comparative Education and Inclusive Education. She was a founding member of the International Network for Inclusion in School Systems and at present she is the coordinator of the Ibero-Mediterranean Research Network on Etno-cultural Identities, Education and Public Policy. She was a consultant expert to the Council of Europe and the EU Fundamental Rights Agency (FRA) on Holocaust and Intercultural Education, and to the Regional Government of Valencia (Generalitat) on youth participation. She is the leader of the research group on Citizenship, Cultural Diversity & Education. She is a member of the European Educational Research Association (EERA), of the Sociedad Española de Pedagogía (Spanish Society of Pedagogy), and of the Sociedad Española de Educación Comparada (Spanish Society of Comparative Education).

logosbeneficaireserasmusleft esEn julio de 2019 la Comisión Europea (Programa Erasmus+) aprobó la creación de un “Centro de Excelencia Jean Monnet sobre Integración y Gobernanza (INTEGO)” en la Universidad de Valencia. El Centro de Excelencia está dirigido por el profesor Cecilio Tamarit, catedrático de Economía Aplicada en la Universidad de Valencia y titular de una cátedra Jean Monnet "ad personam” sobre Integración Económica.

El Centro de Excelencia tiene su sede en la Facultad de Economía de la Universidad de Valencia y es producto de la unión de doce profesores pertenecientes a tres universidades valencianas en las que existen siete Cátedras Jean Monnet: cinco en la Universidad de Valencia, una en la Universidad Jaume I y otra en la Universidad Católica de Valencia. El resultado es la creación de una institución interuniversitaria singular que genera sinergias a través de un enfoque multidisciplinar que abarca todos los aspectos importantes de integración europea mediante actividades docentes, investigadoras y de difusión. Para ello colabora estrechamente con el Centro de Documentación Europea de la Fundación General de la Universidad de Valencia, así como con otras instituciones políticas y sociales valencianas.

Las funciones del Centro de Excelencia son:

  1. impartir docencia y generar recursos docentes de alta calidad mediante un uso de nuevas tecnologías y recursos pedagógicos,
  2. desarrollar programas de investigación sobre gobernanza, tanto desde un punto de vista económico (desequilibrios macroeconómicos, comerciales y sus consecuencias), como institucional (valores de la UE, derechos fundamentales, sociales, género, minorías e inmigrantes)
  3. promocionar y desarrollar actividades de difusión a la sociedad (conferencias, seminarios, mesas redondas…).

Santiago IbáñezExpert on customs law and international taxation. University Professor in the Public Finance Law and Taxation Department of the University of ValenciaAdjunct Professor of the University of Canberra (Australia) and Faculty member of the Master of Customs Administration of the University of Münster (Germany). Expert on customs law and international taxation. Professor at the Public Finance Law and Taxation Department of the University of Valencia. Adjunct Professor of the University of Canberra (Australia) and Faculty member of the Master of Customs Administration of the University of Münster (Germany).

Has ample experience in teaching and training in an international environment (in 23 countries). Directs a postgraduate course specialized in customs law (now in its seventh edition). His area of expertise is customs law and he currently directs the Jean Monnet Chair “EU Customs law” awarded by the European Commission. In 2017-2018 he was senior expert at the mid-term evaluation of TAXUD’s “Customs 2020” program. Europeaid, USAID and Europäische Rechtsakademie (ERA) are among the institutions that have relied upon his customs law expertise. Has authored more than sixty publications on customs topics –books, chapters of books and journal articles- including six articles in international journals in English and a total of seventeen international publications. He is founding Member of the Academia Internacional de Derecho Aduanero and contact person in Spain of the International Network of Customs Universities (INCU, an organization with the support of the World Customs Organization). He created and manages the website www.derechoaduanero.com and the LinkedIn group “Derecho aduanero”.

Roberto Viciano

Professor of Constitutional Law (full tenure) at the University of Valencia in Spain. Jean Monnet Chair on Institutions of the EU since 1995, has developed is careear both in Spain and Latinamerica, where it holds an enormous reputation as a constitutional law professor.

He has been involved in the Constitutional reforms of many Latinamerican countries. Founder of the CEPS (Centro de estudios politicos y sociales) a very dynamic EU study group and of the European Union Foundation. Director of the Master program in the European Community Law since 1996 and of the European Polo on EU and the Mediterranean Relations. Visiting professor at the Universities of La Habana and Camagüey (Cuba), Prize ‘X Aniversario de la Constitución’, Member of the Spanish Chapter of the Club of Rome, Member of the Valencian Council of the European Movement, and of the Asociación Española de Ciencia Política y Derecho Constitucional. International observer in the electoral processes of El Salvador, Ecuador, Bolivia, Venezuela and Colombia. Member of the Institute of Human Rights of Valencia.

mariamcamareroFull Professor of International and European Economics (2007 to date). Jean Monnet module leader (since 1996) and Jean Monnet Chair (from 2000) in European Economic Integration. Master in European Integration from the College of Europe (1990). Her first teaching post was as an assistant at the University of Valencia in 1990. She moved to the University Jaume I since its creation in 1991 where she was first Lecturer, then Associate Professor and finally Full Professor in 2007.

Her area of expertise is European Economic Integration and Applied Econometrics. Her research activities include more than 40 papers published in international academic journals. She is a member and co-founder of INTECO research group in Economic Integration, created in 1993 as a joint group of researchers from the neighboring universities Jaume I and Valencia. She has been a research project coordinator in many competitive calls from the Spanish Ministry as well as from the Regional authorities. She has also participated in several chapters of a Handbook on European Economics that this year reaches its 7th edition. Concerning public service, she has been Regional Vice-Minister of University and Science in the Valencian Government as well as Secretary General for Universities in the Spanish Government.nment.
