Energy balance - Data 2004-2005.
The current publication, which is exclusively devoted to the global energy balance sheets, presents, for the years 2004 and 2005, the balance sheets expressed in specific units and in tons of oil equivalent, for the European Union as a whole, as well as for each Member State, the EEA countries Iceland and Norway, the Accession Countries Bulgaria and Romania, and the Candidate Countries Croatia and Turkey. The balance sheets have been constructed according to Eurostat's methodology, where all the operations are harmonized on the basis of the energy content of each source and form of energy, without any hypothetical substitutions, nor any calculation of equivalence. It contains an analysis of the European Union's position on the world market for energy products and the trend in Community flows between 2000 and 2005. The impact of foreign-controlled enterprises in the EU.
Statistics in focus. Industry, trade and services 67/2007.
Foreign-controlled enterprises accounted for 18 % of the value added, but less than 1 % of the number of enterprises in the 14 Member States for which data are available. They were most important within the manufacturing sector. More than 60 % of their value added could be attributed to enterprises in other Member States, while enterprises from the US accounted for 25%. [+]

Forestry Statistics. 2007 edition.
The European Union of 27 Member states (EU-27) has a total area of forests and other wooded land of 177 million hectares, covering 42 % of its land area. Contrary to what is happening in other parts of the world, forest cover in the EU is slowly but steadily increasing at the rate of approximately 0.4 % per year. Forests provide many benefits to society and the economy and play an important role in the preservation of natural biodiversity and in climate change mitigation. This Pocketbook presents forestry statistics for the EU, the EU candidate countries and the EFTA countries for the period 1995-2005. It summarises Eurostat's most relevant data on the forestry sector as well as data produced by other organisations, thus providing the reader with a comprehensive view of the sector. [+]

Government finance statistics - Summary tables.
The tables in this publication present government finance statistics (GFS) data by Member State, and for the EU25 and Eurozone. The GFS presentation shows, in an integrated way: government revenue, government expenditure, government deficit, transactions in assets, transactions in liabilities, other economic flows, and balance sheets. It gives a clear picture of the links between these data. The publication is intended primarily for national governments, Central Banks, economic analysts and academics with an interest in government finance, though could also be of interest to the wider public. Other publications on the same subject: Eurostat Manual on Government Deficit and Debt, Structure of Taxation systems in the EU and GFS website. The value-added in comparison with other publications is to give an overview of government finances from several angles with consistency information.
